Fletcher Foundation creates new learning experiences for deserving students

OACETT Doubles Your Impact with the

Fletcher Foundation Matching Donation Program

The Fletcher Foundation is proud to announce its new Matching Donation Program aimed at financially supporting worthy technology students in achieving success.

Going forward, OACETT will match two-to-one for every dollar contributed by a member – to a maximum of $25,000 per annum. These funds will be used to leverage additional funds from colleges and/or industry toward supporting student achievement.

Today, I challenge you to give back to the profession that has given us so much and needs our support to develop, advance and thrive well into the 21st century. Understanding how important this is, some of the Fletcher trustees have pledged a significant contribution to the Foundation and are excited to challenge you to do the same!

What Our Recipients and College Partners Are Saying

“Obtaining an education in engineering technology has been a challenging experience that has taken more work and sacrifice that I could have imagined. It is very satisfying being recognized for my efforts and receiving this award will help alleviate the financial burden of my college education tremendously.”

- Alexandra Muir, engineering technology student, Niagara College and 2015/2016 OACETT Engineering Technology Award recipient.

“I am currently in my third year of chemical engineering technology – lab and process control with hopes of becoming an analyst. The financial assistance you have provided will be a great help to me in paying my educational expenses, and will help me to concentrate more of my time to finishing my final year.”

– Christina Smith, third-year chemical engineering technology student, Cambrian College, 2016 - 2017.

“For many students, the financial challenge is the greatest barrier to college success. Some bright and ambitious applicants may not be able to accept their offer of admission because they cannot cover the cost of tuition, supplies, transportation, and living expenses. Other students, who are doing well academically, drop out due to financial challenges. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we reflect back on the many donors who have supported our growth and our students’ success. We are truly privileged to count Fletcher Foundation among our valued supporters. Your support has been a significant contributor to advancing access to post-secondary education, which is so vital in today’s knowledge and high-skilled focused economy. We couldn’t do it without you."

– Wendy Dueck, director, development and alumni development, Niagara College, 2017.
